Diversity is the lifeblood of the retailing industry. From the rich mix of merchandise we offer, to the wide variety of customers we serve, diversity affects and improves all areas of our business. We believe this same diversity should be reflected among the business partners from whom we purchase goods, services and resale merchandise for each of our department store divisions.
Macy's Vendor Development Program
Macy's Vendor Development Program is a corporate-wide initiative designed to foster the promotion, growth and development of minority and women-owned businesses. As a retailer with more than 140 years of experience, Macy's considers the program a sound business commitment. By supporting local and regional businesses, we believe we can strengthen and expand while contributing to the economic growth of the communities we serve. This goal will continue challenging us to seek new sources of ideas, creativity and quality.
The Macy's Vendor Development Program Office refers prospective suppliers to the appropriate department within Macy's divisions and the Macy's Inc. organization. Each department is responsible for the final decision on whether or not to purchase a product.
We seek partners to join us in our vision of building business relationships through our Vendor Development Program.
Since Macy's is a retail company, most business opportunities are found in the retail area. However, it takes many specialized products and services to support the daily operation of our stores and divisional offices. As a result, we constantly seek conscientious, reliable suppliers providing high quality, high-performance and technically advanced goods and services. Non-resale merchandise includes operating supplies and equipment, capital improvements/renovation and general services.
