HoMedics Heating Pads
STYLES AFFECTED BY THE RECALL
theraP
HoMedics Inc. is voluntarily recalling its Homedics heating pads purchased in 2001 and 2002 with a "01" on the hand control (model #: HP-200 and HP-500).
It has been determined that some of these heating pads may contain a loose connection which in turn may cause the unit to short circuit, posing a risk of burn injuries or fire as well as damage to the heating pad itself or to materials (like bedding and furniture) which may be in contact with the pad. While these events have only involved a very small percentage of the total number of these models sold, we believe that it is prudent to recall the products in question. This recall is being conducted with the full knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
To easily determine whether your pad is subject to this recall, please identify the date code as follows

If you have purchased any of these heating pads, please discontinue use of the product and contact HoMedics Inc. to find out how to receive a full refund.
