The sweatshirts, sold at select Macy's stores in children's sizes 2T, 3T, 4, 5, 6 and 6X between November 2008 and December 2008, have a neck drawstring that poses a strangulation risk to children.
The recalled Hello Kitty hoodies were sold only in the former Macy's Central stores located in the following states and cities: Alabama; Georgia; Indiana; Kansas; Kentucky; Louisiana; Missouri; North Carolina; Oklahoma; South Carolina; West Virginia; Tennessee; NY (only Johnson City and Horseheads stores); all of TX (except El Paso); all of OH (except Toledo); PA (only the following PA stores: Altoona, Erie, Greensburg, Hermitage, Homestead, Monaca, Monroeville, Pennsdale, Pittsburgh, Scranton, State College, Tarentum, Washington, West Mifflin, Wilkes-Barre); IL (only the following IL stores: Alton, Bloomington, Carbondale, Champaign, Fairview Heights, Peoria, Springfield); and VA (only the following VA stores: Chesapeake, Colonial Heights, Hampton, Lynchburg, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Roanoke, Virginia Beach).
Customers can correct the safety risk by cutting and removing the neck drawstring, or return this outerwear to the point of purchase for a full refund.
