Cut the biscuit dough into thin 1/4-inch strips. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the sugar and cinnamon, seal closed, and shake well.
Pour oil to a depth of 1 1/2 inches into a deep, heavy saucepan. Heat to 325°F on a deep-frying thermometer. Working in batches, fry the dough strips for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to paper towels to drain. Repeat until all the strips are cooked.
While the strips are still hot, add them to the bag of cinnamon sugar, seal closed, and shake well. Fill a clean pail with crumpled paper towels. Cover the towels with plastic wrap and top with the cookie crumbs. Add the worms, pushing some of them down into the "dirt" so only their heads are peeking out.
